Three panels, three patterns the world keeps making: the whorl of wood, the head of a flower, the branching of a leaf.

Hangs in Pressed, room 09 of 14: The newest register, and the hottest — a single red ground, crackled and worked, with the line laid over the top of it. White pattern standing proud of the surface on one canvas; on the next, a whole garden cut in black inside a ruled border. The block-cutter’s grammar, done in paint.
